Current Player Profile/Interview – Max Chapman

Today’s current player profile focuses on a player from a well-known WCC family, Max Chapman.

The son of former B Grade Premiership Player and the proprietor of long-time club sponsor, Great Eastern Hotel Littlehampton, Mark “Bruno” Chapman; Max is one of at least six Chapmans to have played seniors for the Echidnas in the last 30 odd years, having first made his WCC debut as a wee little tacker in juniors roughly 10 years ago. He returns to the Hill this season after being limited to just one match last season due to concussion-related symptoms suffered from football.

An aggressive middle order batter, Max has two 50’s to his name from U16s and a seniors high score of 33* made on A2’s debut a couple of seasons ago.

Max is also phenomenal in the field, whether as a wicketkeeper or roaming the field, as evidenced by the three catches he took in his lone match last season. In fact, he has already compiled 19 catches and 3 run outs through his first 22 senior matches, with just 4 of those coming from behind the stumps.

Go well Maxi!
