CAMERON ROACH – 150 SENIOR MATCHES

Congratulations to the cockletrain, the cockroach, Cameron Roach who notched up his 150th senior match for the WCC in yesterday’s C’s Grade victory, in which Roachy played a major role, collecting 3/13 from 6.3 overs.

Debuting for the Echidnas in 2013/14 after moving up from the riverland, Roachy has played across A’s, A2’s, B’s & C’s for the Echidnas and was a member of the 2015/16 C Grade Premiership side.

A medium pace bowler with a number of variations of slower balls (which used to drive long-time skipper, Michael “Pickle” Paech mad!), Roachy has done his best work with the ball in hand and is a three-time Bowling Trophy winner. He also has captaincy experience, having captained the B Grade in 2021/22 (& was co-captain the previous season).

Roachy’s best season was undoubtedly the 2016/17 season when he took B Grade by storm, collecting 30 wickets @ 14.43 to finish 2nd in the Association, whilst he had another strong season in B Grade in 2021/22, collecting 23 wickets @ 14.09.

Roachy becomes just the 24th player in club history to reach the 150 senior matches milestone. His 157 wickets places him inside the top 20 leading wickettakers in WCC history & he’s on track to move into the top 12 within the next season or so.

Well done Roachy!
