Congratulations to Wistow Under 16’s players Damin Biddle, Cade Tonkin, Ryan Davies, Declan Bell and Brad Wilson on their recent success in winning the inter-association Under 15’s Calaby Shield over the Hills Cricket Association, Great Southern Cricket Association, Murray Towns Cricket Association and Kangaroo Island Cricket Association.
Perhaps the breakout star of the Alexandra & Eastern Hills side, Brad Wilson put in a strong batting performance with scores of 63*, 0 and 42 whilst also playing an important role with the ball in the final as he picked up 4/35 from 9 overs.
Damin played his role in the side with scores of 25, 10 and 25 as did Cade with scores of 11 and 23.
Captaining the side, Ryan was hampered by a recent back injury which limited his impact in the later games after collecting figures of 2/27 from 9 overs in the opening round matchup against Kangaroo Island. His fielding was also important, with 4 catches across the 3 matches. Declan was similarly hampered by a back injury but also fielded well picking up a couple of catches.
